About

I am a PhD student in the Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where I am working with Dr. Elizabeth Leger. I am broadly interested in plant, community, and restoration ecology in arid and semi-arid landscapes, with a focus on the Great Basin Desert. While plants are my main jam, I also have extensive experience conducting bird and amphibian surveys throughout the Intermountain West.

I previously worked in watershed science and management, including the Caspar Creek Experimental Watersheds (located in a coastal redwood forest) and Gila National Forest in southwestern New Mexico. I am skilled in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, monitoring water quality and stream health, and implementing revegetation and low-tech process-based restoration (LTPBR) projects.

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BA in Astrophysics and Planetary Science. During this time, I conducted research on exoplanetary systems and developed an affinity for Bayesian statistics and modeling. Afterwards, I worked several years as an engineer at the Wyoming Infrared Observatory (WIRO).
